Gate exit checklist

What you should hold at the end of each gate, from feasibility to mass production: documents, source files, units, test reports and the decision record.

Use it: Before you approve a gate payment, with any vendor. Lines marked "stop if missing" should block sign-off.

DDP landed-cost worksheet

A spreadsheet that turns a factory unit price into the delivered-duty-paid cost: customs value, Section 301 duties, MPF, HMF, freight, brokerage and delivery. Formulas are explained in the header.

Use it: To compare a FOB quote with a DDP quote, or to see how much of your unit cost is tariff.

Certification · Markdown

FCC modular checklist

When a pre-certified module’s FCC grant covers your product, what the host still needs, and how to label it. References 47 CFR 15.212 and FCC KDB 996369.

Use it: At Gate 0, before you pick a module and an antenna, and again before formal testing.

SBOM sample

A sample software bill of materials for a hypothetical tracker firmware: every component, version, supplier, license and package URL, in a CSV view of CycloneDX.

Use it: To see the level of detail to ask for, and to brief your security or legal team.

Source-file handover tree

The folder structure of a full handover package for a hypothetical device: electrical, mechanical, firmware, test and certification files, gate by gate.

Use it: To check whether a vendor’s handover is complete, or to write the deliverables list into a contract.

How IP ownership works →

Regulatory and tariff notes reflect the rules as of October 2026 and link to primary sources: 47 CFR 15.212, the FCC Knowledge Database, USTR Section 301 and CBP rulings. Check the dates and rates before you rely on them. They are guidance, not legal or customs advice.

How to use them together

One set of files per gate

  1. Gate 0. Run the FCC modular checklist against your module shortlist. Fill the DDP worksheet with the costed BOM to see the landed price before you commit.
  2. Gates 1–3. Use the gate exit checklist before each payment. Compare the vendor’s package with the handover tree.
  3. Every firmware release. Ask for an SBOM at least as detailed as the sample.

Want us to fill these in for your device? That is most of what Gate 0 Feasibility delivers, as a fixed-fee study credited if you continue.

Mutual NDA

Mutual NDA: sent on request

The Duobay mutual NDA is under review by US counsel, so we do not post a download yet. Ask for it and we send the current version. Mutual NDA countersigned within 2 business days.

  • Mutual: it protects your information and ours the same way.
  • Signed by Aximora Labs Inc., a US company, under US law.

You do not need an NDA for a first call. Describe the device at a high level and we can tell you whether it fits before anyone shares details.

Questions about the templates

Do I need to give an email address to download these?

No. Every file on this page is a direct download. There is no form and no tracking link.

Can I use these with a vendor other than Duobay?

Yes. They are written to work with any hardware partner. Copy, edit and share them inside your company.

Why Markdown and CSV instead of PDF?

So you can edit them. Markdown opens in any text editor and renders on GitHub or in Notion. CSV opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

Are the tariff rates in the worksheet current?

The header notes the rates as of October 2026 with links to USTR, the Federal Register and CBP. Rates change, and your HTS code decides which ones apply. Confirm with a licensed customs broker before you rely on a number.

When will the mutual NDA be downloadable?

It is under review by US counsel. Until then we send it on request: Mutual NDA countersigned within 2 business days. Request it here.

Have a device in mind?

Send the basics. A Duobay engineer replies within 2 business days.

Have a dev kit and a deadline?

Tell us what the device must do. An engineer replies within 2 business days with questions, not a sales deck.
